Transformation Initiative To Partner State Govt in Empowering Akwa Ibomites


In its avowed determination to touch lives of Akwa Ibom people and make them self reliant, a leading socio-political group in Akwa Ibom State, Transformation Initiative for the Empowerment of Ibom People (TIEIP), is partnering Akwa Ibom State government to empower Akwa Ibomites.

Chairman, Board of Trustees of TIEIP, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, announced this shortly after an enlarged meeting of the group on Saturday, 19th August, 2017.

The group, made up of seasoned and heavyweight politicians, academics and businessmen of the State origin said the partnership was based on the shared vision of TIEIP and Governor Udom Emmanuel on developing people for self-reliance and financial independence.

Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, who is also the Honourable Commissioner for Works in Akwa Ibom State, further explained that the group was on a mission to create the enabling environment for government’s policies and programmes to succeed, adding that, the laudable policies of government can only be sustained in an atmosphere devoid of violence.

The BoT Chairman added that the group would go the extra mile to re-orientate the people of Akwa Ibom State as strategic partners in the development of the state.

Highpoint of the meeting was inauguration of the Central Working Committee for the massive empowerment programme coming up next month.

Meanwhile, the event which took place at the Country Home of the Board of Trustees Chairman in Onna Local Government Area, was attended by the National Chairman, Barr Essien Esema, members of BOT, NEC, Chapter Coordinators, Federal Constituency Coordinators, Elders/Supervisors of Local Government Areas, among others.
