A fake prophet in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Don Kume Don has been sentenced to four years in prison.
He was convicted this morning by Justice IFIOK Ukana of the State High Court in Uyo.
The 37-year-old a native of Ukam in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area had duped many personalities including a former Economic Development Commissioner (name withheld) and a Professor who aspired to become Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo.
Don, a Technical School dropout was a leader of a gang who used prophetic prayers to defraud and threaten politicians seeking elective or appointive positions in Akwa Ibom State.
Because of his inability to speak or write correct English, he contracted two graduates of the University of Uyo to type and send text messages to potential victims, threatening them to come for prayers, else they will die.
