Akwa Ibom Youth Frontliners has congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel on the affirmation of his victory by the Supreme Court.
The Association in a statement issued by its President, Otuekong Allen Effeh, said that the lies fabricated against his victory at the April governorship election had been deflated and put to final rest by the Supreme Court.
The AKYF President said the affirmation of the governor’s victory showed that his victory in the last poll was genuine and was devoid of malpractices as alleged by the APC Candidate.
Otuekong Allen lauded the courage of the people in standing by the governor who is delivering on his mandate and adding value to governance in all spheres of influence, asserting that the petitioner at the Supreme Court himself knew he was playing to the gallery abinitio, having lost at the last poll.
However, Mr. Allen has commended Umana for approaching the election tribunal with a view to seeking redress he purportedly perceived, saying that Umana’s action was civil and in line with the tradition of democracy, preferable to violence.
Allen then thumbed up for Udom for his tolerance and democratic tendencies which subscribed to latitude given for all manners of opposition to question his leadership, hinting that the state had raised the bar of democratic tradition with the civility of the governor.
