Public Lecture on Food Quality holds in Uyo, Tuesday

A public Lecture and enlightenment programme on Food quality put together by the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering and the Directorate of International Programs, University of Uyo, holds on Tuesday November 28.

According to the organizers, the one day programme tagged ‘Seeing through the veil on Food quality’ is aimed at educating Nigerians on the basics of food quality control and the need to ensure good quality food is produced and consumed across the nation.

The keynote speaker on the occasion is a renowned professor of Food Process Engineering, Michael Ngadi, of the Department of Bioresources Engineering, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

The lecture will commence by 11am, at the 250 Tetfund Auditorium, University of Uyo, main campus, Use Offot, with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Aniefiok Essien expected as special guest of honour. 

The release invite peasant and commercial farmers, members of the academia, the state ministry of agriculture, chairman and members of the state technical committee on agriculture and food sufficiency, food processing industries, food marketers and other key stakeholders in the food industry to partake in the programme, with view of being brought up to speed with the latest trends as regards food quality control in the globe. 

Guests are expected to be seated by 10.30am.
