The Forum of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ward Chairmen, Abak Chapter have declared total support for the administration of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
In a three point communique issued after a meeting of the forum in Abak and endorsed by the Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Bernard Utang, the Ward Chairmen expressed appreciation to the good people of Abak for voting overwhelmingly for the PDP and her candidate, Udom Emmanuel in the last General Election and also appreciated the governor for choosing their illustrious son, Obong Moses Ekpo as running mate.
The communique which restated their confidence in the capacity of Governor Emmanuel to turn the economic and industrialisation fortunes of the state around however berated those they described as enemies of progress who caused to be published, a baseless and false report that Abak people will reject the reappointment of the immediate past Commissioner for Information, Mr Aniekan Umanah by Governor Emmanuel.
According to the Forum, they have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Mr Umanah, who they affirm, is a very loyal and dependable partyman, who has made enormous sacrifices in supporting the party structure and operations in Abak Local Government Area. The communique condemned in very strong terms the faceless masterminds of that misleading report and urged members of the public to ignore their diatribe, as it does not emanate from Abak people.
The Forum further added that, Mr Umanah has done more than any political appointee and leader before him in Abak in terms of empowerment of the people, unrelenting philanthropy and human capacity development across the eleven wards. They therefore berated those behind the publication as disgruntled elements and agents of blackmail, who are scared of the tremendous goodwill and popularity Mr Umanah enjoys across the spectrum of Abak political class including women groups and youth organizations, party leaders, stakeholders and elders as well as the religious and traditional rulers.
The forum therefore enjoined Mr Umanah to remain focused and not be distracted from the excellent services he has rendered to the state in the last six years as Commissioner, maintaining that, he is more than qualified and deserving of any new assignment or re-engagement by the Udom led administration in the state, and described him(Umanah) as a stand-out son of Abak in whom they are well pleased.
In a related development, Comrade Utang in a chat with our reporter said he had no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mr Umanah to Governor Udom Emmanuel and assured him that, in reappointing Mr Umanah, he will not be disappointed in how their son will render his service as he possesses the rare but priceless qualities of hardwork, excellence, unwavering loyalty and integrity, without which he said, no man can serve effectively.
