As implementation of various plans which constitute the agenda of the incumbent Executive Council of Oro International Youth Forum (ORIYF) continues, the forum has launched an education enlightenment campaign to encourage excellent scholarship in the best interest of the Oro younger population.

The official flag off of the program tagged “ORO Arise For Education Campaign” was held on Friday, 17th February, 2017, beginning with a visit to the prestigious Mary Hanney Secondary School, Oron. It was indeed an exceptional moment as students and staff of the institution filled the largish Assembly Hall of the school to its brim.

Declaring the event open, the President of the forum Nobel Sunday Odokwo (FMLSCN) expressed a sense of satisfaction at the outstanding efforts of the institution’s management in maintaining a high standard of discipline and quality learning in the institution. Admonishing the students, Noble Odokwo charged them to be worthy ambassador of the institution, with emphasis on the Senior Secondary Three (SS3) class which consists the next set of graduates. The President however reiterated the commitment of Oro International Youth Forum to rebuilding and reawakening quality education with ethical moral values in secondary schools across Oro nation. He thereafter declared the open the campaign which will have two(2) selected schools visited in each local government area of the Oro land.


Furthermore, the Vice President 2 of the forum, Miss Ekamma Ekpo began an interactive session with an in inspiring lecture on the topic “The Girl Child :A Hope for the Future.
Also, Mr. Dominic Esifa, an academician and tutor from Infant Jesus Model Secondary School spoke on “Career Choice And Personal Development”, while a lecturer with Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Engr. Kenneth Cyril Bassey, rendered an inspiring address on the topic “Now Is The Time”.

To wrap up the event, the elated and enlightened students took turns to ask questions on various topical issues, to which answers were given by the resource persons accordingly.

However, Assistant school prefect of the school gave a message of appreciation to the forum on behalf of the students, for hosting such an inspiring event in their favour, promising to abide by stated exhortations.
Also representing the students, the school’s sanitary prefect in expressing the excitement of her colleagues, repeatedly thanked the forum and resource persons for considering it necessary to equip them to face possible future challenges.

The high point of the event was a presentation of educational materials to the students through the school authority and a donation of a brand new sign post to the institution by the President of the forum Noble Sunday Odokwo, on behalf of the members of Oro International Youth Fo
