– to donate 500 uniforms to pupils

The member representing Itu State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Prince Idongesit Ituen has promised to donate Five Hundred school uniforms to the pupils of Government Primary School, Ibiaku Itam 2, in Itu Local Government Area.
Prince Ituen made the promise today, Thursday, October 26th, when he visited the school to celebrate his birthday with the pupils.
Ituen who is the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Transport clocked 40 today donated over 5000 copies of exercise books to the pupils.
The Itu representative who was in company of his wife, Mrs. Jessica Ituen, also promised to install ceiling fans and fix widows in some of the classes and the principal’s office.
“I will provide 500 uniforms and desks to aide you to learn comfortably”. Ituen said.
He stated that the gesture is part of his contribution to the free and compulsory education of the state government, and maintained that, the funds will be from his pocket.
Prince Ituen who was however disappointed at the dilapidated state of the school stressed that the effort is not part of his constituency project which he will attract to the school.
Responding, the Head teacher of the school, Elder Enefiok Ikot, thanked the lawmaker for the kind gesture and donating books to the pupils.
He also used the opportunity to call on well meaning people to emulate the lawmaker by supporting the free and compulsory education of the state government.
Some of the pupils who spoke with newsmen, thanked the lawmaker for choosing to celebrate his 40th birthday with them and promised to be good ambassadors of the school.
