Welcoming members, the chairman thanked the state governor for their appointments, saying it is only God who turns the heart of Kings to favour men. ‘For the governor to have selected us, it means he has reposed his trust in us. And we have to repay his faith by ensuring an all round support for him,’ Inyang said. ‘Our profiles are very impressive. ‘If need be, we will fault the federal government that Akwa Ibom State has produced a lot of power that is unable to be evacuated. The federal government has to come and evacuate it. Nigerians will ask questions why the power produced by Ibom Power has not been evacuated for the use of Nigerians. We will definitely get there.
‘We have been bestowed with a lot of resources, such as gas resource, sunlight, wind. We will look at other source of energy to be able to put Akwa Ibom in the front burner. New technologies are out there, we will talk to the respective sectors to make sure that they take advantage of this. ‘We will be meeting a lot of investors, we will listen to presentations. We on the Board must keep focus so we can achieve the collective goal. The success of the governor should be our priority,’ the chairman enthused.
