'I Won't Betray You Like Akpabio…' – Umana Woos Akwa Ibom Cyclists

The Governorship candidate of The All Progressive Congress, (APC) Obong Umana Okon Umana has assured Motorcyclists operating in the state that his administration, if given the chance to become the next Governor of the State will initiate a welfare scheme to better the lots of citizens in the state.
The APC Governorship candidate made this position known during a surprise visit o the popular mechanic village in Uyo recently. Umana noted that his administration will not leave out any section of the society which is the bane of the current administration in the state
He promised to initiate a transport scheme to the tune of N3billion Naira to support Cyclists operators across the State. The former Secretary to State Government observed with dismay the on-going rampant endorsement of candidates stating that he does not bother about group’s endorsement but desires to be adopted by individual voters as their preferred candidate for the April 11 Governorship polls in the State.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the aggrieved members of the Akwa Ibom Professional Commercial Motorcyclists Association (APCOMA) to support his aspiration adding that he will do everything possible to assuage their feelings before the polls.
He therefore called on them to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) and be ready to cast their votes for the APC candidates starting from the Presidential to the State House of Assembly elections.
The Governorship hopeful said he is offering himself to serve the people and ensure that governance is given the universal perspective in the state, where people can feel and benefit from honest and sincere leadership.
“I will not promise you heaven and earth because my word is my bond, I don’t lie to people because of politics, I’ll prefer to remain a honest main than telling you lies. We want to change things and the lives of our people, bring prosperity to every home” he noted.
According to him, the change will be gradual but at the end everyone will benefit from it. He added that the APC government, where he will lead as Governor will turn things around for good.
Commenting on the APC Campaigns in the State, a former Executive of APCOMA, Mr. Mfonma Udoh said they are much more at home with the aspiration of Obong Okon Umana Okon Umana to succeed Governor Akpabio.
Mr. Mfonma recalled how Governor Akpabio used and dumped them in 2011 and pledged the support of Motorcyclists in the State to work for the success of the APC Governorship hopeful to succeed at April 11 polls.
