…Pass vote of confidence
The Transition Committee Chairman of Mbo Local Government Council Hon. Mfon Bassey, himself an indigene of Enwang led the good people of Enwang on a widely attended solidarity visit on the Immediate Past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Victor Antai.
The Transition Committee Chairman expressed gratitude to God on behalf of the entire people of Enwang for keeping Mr Antai in good health throughout his tenure in office. He specifically declared that the effort of Mr Victor Antai and other stakeholders from Mbo made him the Transition Committee Chairman of Mbo and pledged his unflinching support to Mr Antai.
Mr Victor Antai responded that Enwang people are so dear to him. He remarked that Enwang is lucky to have a Transition Committee Chairman of Mbo in the person of Hon. Mfon Bassey whom he described as a true son of the soil, a grassroots mobilizer and a cheerful giver to a fault. “I have fulfilled my dream in Mbo, the dream of seeing that Enwang son is the Transition Committee Chairman of Mbo. Enwang people have been very good to me during my tenure as Chairman of Mbo Local Government Council”. He however concluded that one significant thing about Enwang today is the contribution of a one time Inspector General of Police, Late Sir Etim Inyang who ensured that Mbo is an entity in Oro nation.
The Acting President of Enwang Development Union, Chief Effiong Abia thanked Mr Antai for making Mbo proud and submitted that Enwang people are solidly behind Governor Udom Emmanuel. Also, Obonganwan Mrs Mary Inyang appreciated Mr Antai for incorporating Enwang people in his largesse and prayed for more blessings from God for him to continue to do more.
Highlight of the visit was a vote of confidence on the Governor, His Excellency Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for second term.
The solidarity visit was well attended by well meaning Enwang indigenes which include SA to the Governor, Oscar Akinninyi, Eteyen Imisim, Ruddy Eyo, Terence Etim, PDP Wards EXCO (past and present), PDP Chapter Women Leader, youth leaders, community leaders and opinion leaders from Enwang.
