The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang says his vision is to return Akwa Ibom state to its past glory and has expressed readiness to throw his hat into the ring come 2019.
Enang made this disclosure to a cross section of youths drawn from the 9 local government areas of Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) senatorial district who paid him a solidarity visit at his Ewet Housing Estate residence over the weekend.
He told the youths in confidence that going by expert analyses, it was clear that the APC in Akwa Ibom state has an outside chance of upturning the status quo in the state, especially in the light of the lack of substantive evidence by Mr Umana to prove his case and the non-recognition of card readers by the court.
As a lawyer, the presidential aide said, he was sure that the appellate court will not manufacture additional evidence to favour the APC, adding that the current decision by the tribunal was a win-win for the PDP.
Instead of crying over spilt milk, Enang advised the youths to support his ambition by mobilizing and putting up structures that will match the strength the PDP. He told the youths that they should disregard the impression that President Buhari will influence the Court of Appeal in Umana’s favour. Senator Enang gave the youths an initial take of grant of 5 million naira and promised to give the youth leaders cars by Christmas.
