This demands was made at the Ibom International Airport, when  an unprecedented crowd of supporters from the Federal Constituency received him as he returned on a vacation yesterday.

The people stated that Eket Federal Constituency is yearning for a representative that will not just give them robust and effective legislation but one who understands the challenges and also feel the pangs of the people, and they have found him worthy to represent them.

Speaking on behalf of the forum,  the President, Evang. Joseph Mbong said they have decided to give the commissioner a surprise welcoming ovation because he deserves accolades from the people and to prove to him that the people loves him.

Mbong, stated further that they came to inform him that Eket Federal Constituency demands that he resigns his present appointment and join the race to represent the people in the green chamber of the national assembly come 2019.

He described the Commissioner to be a good man who is vested with capacity, oratory skills, requisite knowledge that will give Eket Federal Constituency the required voice in the ninth national assembly, which is why the people have contributed their money to be at the airport.

Mbong added that should the Commissioner refuse the clarion call, they will have no other option but to drag him to court, so he can tell them why he is rejecting the call to serve his people.

Responding to their agitation, the AKISIEC Field and Logistic Commissioner, hon. Pat Ifon said he is overwhelmed by the show of love from the people he never knew loved him.

Ifon said God has done this because he didn’t anticipate it and if he says anything further he might begin to cry for the confidence reposed on him by the people, but promised to respond appropriately.

The Commissioner said now he will take the mission very seriously, and urged the people to give the same support they are willing to give to him to the Governor because he has done really well.

He stated further that except one is blind, mischievous, malicious before anyone can come up to say that the Governor has not done anything, stressing that there is no need talking about what the Governor has done because he has done everything everywhere.
