…Canvasses supports for PDP candidates in rerun elections
The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke has expressed gratitude to the people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial district for celebrating Governor Udom Emmanuel, his Deputy, Mr Moses Ekpo, as well as the immediate past governor of the state, Sen. Godswill Akpabio.
In a goodwill message he presented, Saturday, at the Ikot Ekpene Township stadium during the occasion of the reception rally hosted by the people of the senatorial district for the governor and Senator representing the area, Rt Hon. Luke who was flanked by by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Felicia Bassey and other members of the state legislature, congratulated the honourees on their reception, and pledged the readiness of the sixth assembly to partner the governor in the industrialization of the state.
While congratulating Mr. Emmanuel on his Supreme Court victory, the Speaker enjoined those in the opposition party to sheathe their swords and join hands with the PDP-led administration of Mr Emmanuel in the development of the state. He described the victory celebration as significant, noting that the people of the area had every reason to thank God for standing by their representative, Chief Akpabio, who survived a road accident last year in Abuja.
The Speaker also canvassed supports for the return of immediate past members of the sixth assembly, Mr. Idongesit Ntekpere of Ikot-Ekpene/Obot Akara state constituency and Mr. Effiong Okon Bassey of Oron/Udung Uko State constituency in the forthcoming House of Assembly re-run elections for the vacant seats in the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly.
