As Nigeria get closer to the much anticipated 2015 general elections, more young youths

state. For this reason, the Business Management graduate from one of Ghana’s
prestigious tertiary institutions, Knutsford University College, Accra has come out to make a statement regarding one of the top ranking aspirants in Akwa Ibom state for the governorship ticket, Hon. Benjamin Okoko.
Mr. Emamanuel Ekpenyong during a media chat with newsmen in Uyo said that the
aspirant who is a seasoned professional has good intentions for Akwa Ibom people, both young and old. In the aspect of helping the youths, he hinted that the Mr. Benjamin Okoko believes in the youths and his led government, come 2015 will provide functional education to augment with the free and compulsory education being
enjoyed in the state courtesy governor Obong Godswill Obot Akpabio.
This new educational programme will give chance to
those who aren’t able to make it through institutional colleges, either due to financial constraint, or lack of zeal/passion. With a functional education, we’ll be sure of having good technicians, plumbers, tailors, to
mention but a few. And this development will mostly be made available in the utmost rural areas.
The young entrepreneur also pointed out that the issue of industrialization in Akwa
Ibom will speed up economic growth, but not efficient until the problem of power supply is
fully solved. Constant power supply is required to run industries properly and it will
more so help start ups companies and other small scale enterprises to concentrate on growth rather than divert funds meant for expansion. Hence, he stressed that the steady and adequate supply of power will top the agenda of Mr.Benjamin
Okoko’s administration when he resumes office in May 2015.
Emmanuel added that in the area of tourism, Akwa Ibom has the human resources with
lofty ideas, but power also plays a significant role because of its entertainment related
nature which has lots of youths engaged in different aspects of the industry. When multi-
nationals are sighted in an enabling environment, they will be able to support and
fund events and boast the social life and drive tourist activities.
He goes ahead to describe Mr Benjamin Okoko as a pragmatic leader and who will lead Akwa Ibom state to a more enviable and unflinching end.
